Tabba removed from PIA board

The PTI government has removed Muhammad Ali Tabba is the Chief Executive of Lucky Cement Limited from the board of directors of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for his non-serious and irresponsible behavior.

Tabba has been on the board of directors of PIACL. However, he has been often absent from the board’s meetings and was replaced with a new member having experience and expertise in the aviation sector to contribute in an effective manner.

The Civil Aviation had sent a pane to the government and requested to appoint one of them as a member board of directors of PIACL in replacement of Mr. Muhammad Ali Tabba for the remaining term of the members of the board up to June 6, 2020.

A panel of three names i.e Aslam R Khan, Arif Usmani, and Khurram Tariq was sent to the government. However, Aviation Division recommended the name of Aslam R.Khan as a member of the PIACL board in view of his vast experience in the field of aviation in general and PIACL specifically.

After consideration, the government had approved the name of Mr. Aslam R.Khan as a member of the PIACL board in place of Muhammad Ali Tabba chief executive of Lucky Cement for the remaining term of the members of the board.
