MoIP, Chairman USC trade corruption charges

Islamabad: It is irony of fate, a man working hard for 30 years for uprooting corruption from the dear land is facing exit door for heading a Corporation delivering subsidized chores for masses just asking Corruption watchdog—FIA to probe the irregularities in the procurement of billions of rupees of essential items during the last Ramazan.

Chairman USC Board, after writing to FIA for wrongdoings in Corporation, is facing the wrath of the management of USC and ministry as well. At first, the management of USC locked the office, the chairman was using and also parked the official car. Following the management of USC, the Ministry also wrote a letter to the chairman USC Board to explain his alleged charges.

An official close with the Chairman Office confirmed that one of the federal ministers was pressurizing the USC chairman Board to submit a resignation and asked Chairman USC Board that it is better for him to resign, so the chairman is going to resign very soon.

Chairman Board of Directors of Utility Stores Corporation has become a victim of none other than his colleagues by leaving no option but only considering to submit resignation to the Chief Executive of the country in a requested meeting if it happened next week.

According to media reports, Zulqiurnain Ali Khan, Chairman USC board, has made his mind of tendering his resignation in a requested meeting with premier Imran Khan after getting an explanation from his parent ministry—MoIP—for his alleged involvement in USC’s affair.

Sensing the row between the management and chairman of the USC Board, Federal Minister for Industries & Production Hammad Azhar was directed to refrain from issuing a statement or talking to media over the issues of the Corporation.

An official commenting on the affairs of USC told this correspondent but seeking anonymity because of the new direction of the PTI regime of not talking to the media, “Likewise of PTI party along with his allied party at Centre and Province of Punjab is fighting over the petty issue rather focusing on governance.”
