Islamabad: The PTI government has decided to acquire 508 kanals land from Capital Development Authority (CDA) to build apartment complex of about 13,000 units of various categories under Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP).
Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) is a public limited company registered under the companies Act 2017 under administrative control of Ministry of Housing and Works with mandate to provide shelter to federal government employees and other specified groups of the society. Since its inception in the year, 1989, FGEHF has completed 11 housing schemes and allotted about 23000 plots and housing units to its embers. At present, more than 150,000 members are registered with the FGEHF and number of registered members is increasing every day.
Prime Minister had launched Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP) for low paid government employees and general masses of the country. FGEHF is also part of this mega program and is working on a number of endeavors in accordance with the Joint Venture Policy with private parties to enhance its land bank for the NPHP.
FGEHF is also exploring options to utilize state land for implementation of housing projects under the NPHP. The deputy commissioner Rawalpindi had identified about 508 kanals of compact land out of 1008 kanals owned by Capital Development Authority (CDA).District administration had already utilized 500 kanals of land by constructing a public park, stadium and allocation to graveyard after obtaining NOC from the CDA. The indentified piece of land is located next o Askari-VI in Mauza Chaklala. As per record, land is indicated as barren and is suitable for apartment complex of about 13,000 units of various categories. The government has decided to acquire this land on acquisition rate for utilization under NPHP in favour of FGEHF.
