Tajik Citizens return from Russia and Turkey

Tajik Citizens have returned from Russia and Turkey and were flown to Dushanbe.

As many 159 Tajik citizens who were in temporary detention centers for foreign citizens the past few months were flown from Yekaterinburg to Dushanbe.

And 194 Tajik citizens who were stranded in Turkey due to the cancellation of international flights resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have been repatriated to Dushanbe.

The bodies of two citizens were transported in the same flight for burial in Tajikistan.

Priority is on returning Tajik citizens who have been in temporary detention centers for the past three months, reports the Tajik Embassy in Moscow.

All the remaining Tajik citizens in temporary detention centers in Russia will be flown to Tajikistan  this week.

And 194 Tajik citizens who were stranded in Turkey due to the cancellation of international flights resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have been repatriated to Dushanbe.

In line with the instructions of President Emomali Rahmon’s instructions, a decision was made to implement a plan for the phased repatriation of citizens who were abroad when the borders were closed.

The process of returning citizens from will depend on the creation of the necessary conditions, including the availability of appropriate places for quarantine and medical monitoring.

The republican commission assures Tajik citizens that, despite many unprecedented difficulties, all the required measures will be implemented to maintain the health and safety of citizens at home and abroad.
