Pakistan becomes 4G smartphone exporter

Pakistan has become a 4G Smartphone exporter as Airlink Communication exports the first badge of 1500 locally manufactured smartphones to the United Arab Emirates.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce Razak Dawood announced it in a tweet here on Saturday.
He said that it is heartening to see that within a short period of time, Pakistan has become a 4G Smartphone exporter.

“I would like to congratulate Airlink Communications is playing an integral role in this process and exporting their first batch of 1500 locally manufactured smartphones to UAE, Dawood said.

He further said that it is a small beginning for the company but a significant milestone for Pakistan’s mobile phone industry.
The present government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had approved the Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy to promote local manufacturing and assembly of mobile phone handsets.
This policy has started yielding results.
Samsung is also now setting up a plant in Pakistan to manufacture smart mobile phones locally.
Dawood had announced earlier that the government was focusing now on industrialization. Pakistan had been mainly dependent on imports. The present government decided to cut imports and increase exports.
Following this slogan, it had approved the mobile phone manufacturing policy. Now, Pakistan had become the first 4G smartphone exporter.
Airlink had shipped the first bath of 4G smartphone exports to the UAE. The government is moving forward towards ‘Make in Pakistan’ in practical form.
Furthermore, Razak Dawood had announced earlier that Samsung Electronics was in the process to set up their TV line-up plant in Karachi.
Meanwhile, it was setting up a plant in collaboration with the R&R Industries at Karachi. He had announced that the plan would become functional in Q4 of 2021. It is also likely to produce 50,000 units annually.
