British institutions invited to invest in Nawaz Sharif IT City

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have decided to leverage their combined expertise to tackle the challenges of climate change.

This agreement was made during a meeting in Murree between Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.Maersk to Invest $2 Billion in Pakistan’s Port and Transport Infrastructure

The discussion covered several important topics, including climate change, education, and healthcare. They also explored the possibility of enhancing opportunities for Punjab students to pursue higher education at leading universities in the UK.

Maryam Nawaz outlined Punjab’s eco-friendly initiatives aimed at reducing environmental pollution and enhancing governance through a KPI-based monitoring system for police and administrative functions.

The talks also addressed ongoing efforts related to Digital Punjab and the advancement of solar panel projects in the region.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended an invitation to British institutions to invest in the Nawaz Sharif IT City project in Lahore and expressed eagerness for British collaboration in establishing IT universities in Punjab.

She highlighted that Punjab is entering a new phase of digital advancement, with the Twin Towers project in Lahore nearing completion rapidly.
