Govt to move forward with DISCOs’ privatization by April 25

ISLAMABAD: Energy Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari has announced that the government, working together with the Privatization Commission, plans to proceed with the privatization of Distribution Companies (DISCOs) by April of the coming year.

In a conversation with a private news network, he mentioned that the initial group of Distribution Companies will have their Expressions of Interest issued in April 2025.Energy Experts Hail K-Electric’s Privatization as a Role Model for other DISCOs

He also noted that the concluding transactions are anticipated to be finalized within three to six months following that.
