How to Check Your Sehat Card Eligibility Easily
The Punjab Government has issued clear instructions for citizens to check their Sehat Card eligibility amid confusion about the health scheme.
Officials confirmed that the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) now functions as the Sehat Card.
Patients can present their CNIC at any designated private hospital to receive free treatment under the programme.
To verify eligibility, citizens can send their CNIC number via SMS to 8500. They will then receive a message confirming whether they are entitled to use the Sehat Card services.
Authorities emphasised that this quick and simple process helps avoid uncertainty and ensures people know their coverage before visiting hospitals.

The Punjab Health Initiative Management Company has also advised citizens to check that all family members are properly registered with NADRA.
Without accurate records, patients may face delays or be unable to access treatment under the scheme.
For additional support, a dedicated helpline is available daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to guide citizens through the process and resolve hospital-related issues.
Officials dismissed rumours about the programme’s suspension, assuring that health services remain active across Punjab.
The Sehat Card continues to provide financial relief for families who struggle with rising medical costs.
Authorities urged the public to rely only on official channels for updates and to use the verification system to confirm their eligibility.
