Dar Unveils Swift Justice Plan for Overseas Pakistanis

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced a major reform for overseas Pakistanis, establishing dedicated courts to resolve property disputes efficiently and transparently.

The Foreign Minister made the remarks while inaugurating the renovated Consular Services Area at the Pakistan Consulate General in New York.

Dar said the new courts, established under the Overseas Pakistanis Property Act, allow evidence through video link and electronic filing, removing the need for travel.

He added that overseas Pakistanis will now be treated as filers by the FBR, easing financial transactions, business dealings, and investment opportunities across Pakistan.

The foreign minister also mentioned reserved quotas for children of expats in federal universities and medical colleges, along with facilitation offices in Punjab and Balochistan.

Other reforms include restoration of Green Channel facilities at airports and introduction of the Visa Prior to Arrival category for nationals of 126 countries.

Dar is currently in the United States attending the 80th United Nations General Assembly session, where he also urged decisive Security Council action on the Gaza conflict.

Dar emphasized that Gaza had become a graveyard for humanity, calling for accountability, justice, and urgent steps to end Palestinian suffering and starvation.

Dar welcomed increasing recognition of Palestinian statehood by more countries and endorsed France and Saudi Arabia’s summit promoting the two-state solution as a viable path forward.
