Weather Forecast: Islamabad Faces Rain

 Islamabad and surrounding areas have experienced heavy rain on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday, due to heavy rainfall, metrological department has predicted a risk of flash flooding in local streams and nullahs in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and Kashmir.Flood-hit power grids and feeders see partial restoration

Earlier MeT office had predicted rain with windstorms and thunderstorms on Monday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and Punjab. A few places are likely to experience heavy rain or hailstorms.

Weather in 24 hours has been reported as rain with windstorms and thunderstorms occurred in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, with heavy rain recorded at a few locations. The weather remained hot and dry in other parts of the country.

 During this period, it forecasts thunderstorms, windstorms, and hailstorms which may disrupt daily activities. They are said to cause damage to weak infrastructure, including mud houses, boundary walls, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels.

Metrological department has advised travelers and tourists to remain cautious and plan their journeys according to weather conditions.

It has reported rain with windstorms and thunderstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and Punjab. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms are also likely to occur at a few places. MeT office said that the weather is expected to remain dry in other parts of the country.

• Kashmir: Rawalakot 05.
• Gilgit-Baltistan: Bunji 04, Bagrot 02, Astore 01.
