Umrah For All: Saudi Eases Visa Restrictions

Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that every visa holder in the Kingdom can now perform Umrah. The decision reflects Saudi Arabia’s effort to ease the pilgrimage process and extend facilities to the guests of Allah Almighty.

Authorities confirmed that individuals holding tourist, transit, visit, or family visit visas will be allowed to perform Umrah, provided they remain legally present in the country. The ministry stated that this measure supports Vision 2030, which aims to make the Kingdom more accessible and inclusive for global visitors.

Officials urged pilgrims to use the Nusuk Umrah platform to select packages and obtain permits. The platform has been upgraded to streamline the process and ensure smooth coordination for all registered users.

The ministry said providing maximum convenience to pilgrims remains one of the top priorities under Vision 2030 reforms. The initiative to allow Umrah for all visa holders is seen as a key step toward promoting religious tourism and welcoming millions of Muslims to perform the sacred ritual more easily during their visit to Saudi Arabia.

Last week, Saudi Arabia also implemented new Umrah visa rules, linking each stage of the pilgrimage to official digital platforms, ensuring greater transparency and smoother arrangements.

The system, however, requires pilgrims to follow new conditions more strictly, covering hotel bookings, transport reservations, and compliance with itineraries linked to the official Nusuk platform.

Umrah operators in the UAE confirmed the reforms, saying the rules aim to protect pilgrims while making the journey more efficient, safe, and transparent. Below are ten major changes that every pilgrim must follow before planning their spiritual journey to Makkah and Madinah this year.
