Pakistan is introducing an AI app designed to detect travellers using fake documents and illegal visas before they board flights.

The Federal Ministry of Interior announced new measures aimed at making foreign travel more secure and preventing document fraud.

Starting in January, Islamabad Airport will pilot the AI system to identify passengers attempting to bypass immigration laws.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain.

Officials agreed on strict action against individuals using forged documents at airports across the country.

The ministry said the app will flag illegal travellers in real time and confirm who is eligible to travel.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that deported individuals would never again receive visas under the strengthened security approach.

The government has requested final recommendations within seven days to support wider reforms in the immigration system.

Authorities said the Protector issuance system will be made foolproof and that fake visas and agent mafias will face zero tolerance.

They also announced that uniform international driving licences will now be issued by the National Police Bureau.

The AI app, developed under former FIA Additional DG Ammar Jafri, will be available on major app stores for public reporting of immigration issues.

Officials said the system will support real-time monitoring, suspicious behaviour detection, and risk analysis to strengthen Pakistan’s border security.
