Chinese Fintech Fintopia to Support SMEs
Islamabad — Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, held a meeting with a delegation of the Chinese fintech company Fintopia to discuss opportunities for expanding digital financial services in Pakistan, particularly for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
During the meeting, it was shared that Fintopia is a global fintech group that provides digital financial services to SMEs by leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence.
The delegation highlighted that Fintopia is expanding its operations beyond China to Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa, with a strong focus on financial inclusion.SMEs Seek Govt Help to Tackle Industry Challenges
Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan stated that, in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, providing financial facilitation to SMEs is the government’s top priority. He emphasized that improved access to finance for SMEs will strengthen the economy and create employment opportunities across the country.
The SAPM further noted that the use of artificial intelligence and digital wallets can make access to credit easier and more efficient for SMEs. He added that Fintopia’s innovative fintech solutions could play a significant role in the growth of SMEs and overall economic development in Pakistan.
The Chinese delegation observed that Pakistan offers vast potential for artificial intelligence–based financial services. Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan also highlighted that Pakistan’s talented youth and farming community can greatly benefit from modern fintech solutions.
The Fintopia delegation requested government support for establishing and expanding their services in Pakistan. In response, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan directed all relevant stakeholders, including the State Bank of Pakistan, SMEDA, and concerned government departments, to facilitate Fintopia in this regard.
He also assured that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) would extend full cooperation wherever required. Reiterating the Prime Minister’s directions, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan stated that attracting foreign investment and providing all possible facilities to China, Pakistan’s brotherly country, remains a key government objective
