Contrary to the general perception, serious topics including family entertainment dominated the top searches at ‘TikTok’ Pakistan.
The details shared by the short video platform here Wednesday, showed Pakistanis searched for cricket-fuelled conversations and entertainment buzz to practical searches like product reviews and mehndi designs in 2025.

In a statement TikTok has said that people searched TikTok to explore destinations before they go, to catch up on moments as they happen, and to find quick, relatable guidance through creators who speak their language and understand local context.
“TikTok Search has become an essential part of daily life in Pakistan,” said Umais Naveed, Content Operations Lead, South Asia, TikTok said in a statement.
The platform has said that travel queries, from Islamabad to Altit Fort Hunza, shows growing trend for exploring Pakistan’s landscapes and landmarks.
TikTok said searches for several popular content tags rose in Pakistan over the past year, pointing to growing use of the platform as a discovery tool. Searches linked to #TravelTok increased by 53 pc, while #FoodTok rose by 52 pc, #StudyTok searches were up 60 pc and #FitnessTok recorded the largest jump, growing 66pc compared to 2024.
The top searched words on TikTok in Pakistan in 2025, in terms of places were – Islamabad, Altit Fort Hunza, Chenab River, Lahore and Karachi.
The most searched news and moments are- Babar Azam 100 century, Pakistan v South Africa, Pakistan v India, Nadia meri soni sawani and Floods.
While the most searched TV shows were Turkish series, Tamasha, Meri Bahuein, Mein Manto Nahi Hoon and the Hum Awards 2025.
There has been a significant rise in searches for Soundtracks.
While, most searched foods by the Pakistanis in outgoing year were Lava burger, Biryani, Aalu, Dubai chocolate and Macha drink.
The most searched sportspeople were Babar Azam, Abhishek Sharma, Virat Kohli, Haris Rauf and Mitchell Starc. And the top searched showbiz celebrities are Imran Ashraf, Fahad Mustafa, Mahira Khan and Kinza Hashmi
