Rawalpindi Division to Set Up 16 Sahulat Bazaars

Authorities in Rawalpindi Division announced plans to establish 16 Sahulat Bazaars across Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum districts during Ramadan period this year officially.

The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Sahulat Bazaar Chairman Mohammad Afzal Khokhar and Member of National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb jointly held there.

Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema and Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Hasaan Tariq attended in person along with other officials at the meeting session.

District commissioners of Attock, Chakwal, Murree and Jhelum joined the meeting through a video link, officials said during the coordination review meeting held for planning.

The meeting reviewed ongoing and upcoming Sahulat Bazaar projects aimed at providing relief by offering essential commodities at lower prices than open market rates locally.

Chairman Mohammad Afzal Khokhar said the bazaars aim to provide public relief by selling essential items below open market prices during the Ramadan period ahead.

He highlighted the Sahulat Drive-Through initiative allowing citizens to shop without leaving their vehicles at designated bazaar locations for added convenience during Ramadan shopping hours.

He also discussed Sahulat On The Go, a programme to organise informal pushcart businesses while providing quality goods at one location for public convenience purposes.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb urged administrations to quickly arrange land, as officials confirmed sixteen locations were being processed for Sahulat Bazaars across the division currently underway.
