The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Australia at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium this month.

The matches are scheduled for January 29, 31, and February 1, with all games set to start at 4. PM Pakistan Standard Time.

Former captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi return to the squad after missing Pakistan’s recent three-match series against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

Salman Ali Agha will lead the side, while Shadab Khan continues his comeback, playing a key role in a strong spin attack including Abrar Ahmed.

The spin attack also features Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Tariq, with the squad including Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Saim Ayub, and wicketkeepers.

Players and support personnel will assemble in Lahore on Saturday, beginning preparations for the series the following day ahead of Australia’s scheduled arrival in Pakistan.

Australia will arrive on January28, marking their second T20I series in Pakistan since a solitary match at Gaddafi Stadium in April 2022.

Overall, Pakistan and Australia have faced each other 28 times in T20Is, with Australia winning fourteen matches, Pakistan twelve, one tied, and one match producing no result.
