Residents of Lahore have been assured of uninterrupted electricity during the Basant celebrations, as senior officials of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) confirmed there will be no loadshedding.
LESCO has taken special measures to ensure continuous power supply and public safety, including the installation of protective nets at key grid stations such as Shah Alam and Shahi Qila.
In previous years, metal kite strings falling on transformers or grid stations caused immediate shutdowns, but the newly installed safety nets are designed to prevent such incidents this year.
A central control room has been established at LESCO headquarters to monitor the power system throughout the Basant period, ensuring timely responses to any technical issues that may arise.

LESCO Chief Executive Muhammad Ramadan Butt said all employee leave requests have been cancelled for three days during Basant to maintain smooth operations and uninterrupted service across the city.
He further assured the public that the electricity supply will meet demand, with no quotas imposed, and confirmed there will be no loadshedding anywhere in Lahore during the festival.
The announcement is expected to bring relief to citizens as authorities aim to ensure both safety and continuous electricity supply while the city enjoys the Basant festivities.
