Islamic Ideology Council has announced updated Sadaqah al-Fitr and Fidyah rates for 2026, setting official guidance for payments required when fasting is missed or Ramadan obligations are fulfilled nationwide.

Council Chairman Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi said the minimum amount for both Fitrana and Fidyah has been fixed at Rs300 per person for the current year across Pakistan officially announced.

He explained that Fitrana and Fidyah amounts differ by food items, with wheat at Rs300, barley Rs1,100, dates Rs1,600, raisins Rs3,800, and dried figs set at Rs5,400 per person respectively.

The Council also announced that Fidyah for thirty fasts has been set at Rs9,000 for wheat and Rs33,000 for barley during Ramadan period in the year 2026 officially notified nationwide.

For dates, raisins and dried figs, the Fidyah for thirty missed fasts has been fixed at Rs48,000, Rs114,000 and Rs162,000 respectively by the Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan this year.

The expiation for thirty fasts using government-supplied flour has been set at Rs6,000, while Zakat-ul-Fitr using such flour is Rs200 per person as officially announced by the Council chairman publicly.

Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi stressed that Zakat-ul-Fitr is obligatory for every Muslim, including men, women and children, and must be paid within prescribed religious guidelines as outlined by Islamic teachings.

He added that expiation for intentionally breaking a fast requires fasting sixty consecutive days or feeding sixty needy people twice daily under established Islamic jurisprudence principles officially recognised nationwide guidance.
