Rawalpindi have secured Mohammad Rizwan in the Platinum category for PKR 56 million ahead of the Pakistan Super League auction, confirming him as their headline signing for the 11th edition.

The franchise also announced the acquisition of Sam Billings, Zaman Khan and Yasir Khan across different categories as preparations continue before the official player auction scheduled for today.

Rizwan, the former Multan Sultans captain, became the most expensive of the four selections after Rawalpindi finalised his deal in the top Platinum category for the upcoming season.

England batter Sam Billings was signed in the Diamond category for PKR 30.8 million, bringing international experience to the squad before the tournament begins later this year.

Fast bowler Zaman Khan joined Rawalpindi in the Gold category for PKR 11.2 million, while Yasir Khan was secured in the Silver category for PKR 6 million.

The Pakistan Super League’s 11th edition is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 3, with franchises finalising their squads before the official auction.

Earlier this week, ownership rights of former champions Multan Sultans were concluded during a high-profile bidding process held at the Expo Centre in Lahore.

The bidding intensified after a final call when Walee Technologies returned with a bid of PKR 2.45 billion, prompting CD Ventures to seek a strategic five-minute timeout.

After the short break, CD Ventures withdrew from the process and the auctioneer confirmed Walee Technologies as the successful bidder for the next 10 years.

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi later presented the ceremonial key to representatives of Walee Technologies, who announced the franchise would relocate from Multan to Rawalpindi.
