Auto Sales In Feb 2026 Jump 41% on Strong Demand

Pakistan’s automobile sector continued its growth momentum in February 2026, with car sales including pickups registering 17,121 units (up 41% YoY), driven primarily by strong momentum in 800cc & below cars (up 65% YoY), while the truck sector posted strong growth of 37% on the back of low financing rates.

In Cars segment, SAZEW posted highest growth of 84% in heavy-weighted companies with 1,682 units sold in Feb’26 versus the same period last year. The growth is mainly attributable to contribution from HAVAL PHEV.

According to our estimate, the newly launched variant contributed around 35% to the sales mix.

INDU also posted 3,817 units (up 46% YoY) during the month. The growth was primarily driven by Corolla, Yaris & Corolla Cross, which collectively recorded 3,102 units in Feb’26 (up 70% YoY). However, the IMVs segment (Fortuner & Hilux) witnessed a 10% YoY decline to 715 units, mainly due to intense competition in the Rs10mn–Rs20mn price segment.

On the flip side, HCAR posted meager growth of 3% YoY at 2,114 units in Feb’26. The combined sales of City & Civic posted a decline of 1% YoY with 1,861 units sold. While the HR-V & BR-V posted 253 units (up 42% YoY) compared to 178 units in Feb’25, supported by the new launch of HR-V HEV.

Truck and bus sales rose 37% YoY in Feb’26 to 664 units. The sequential decline of 40% MoM is largely attributable to the January effect, with purchases typically deferred to the new year, while the strong YoY growth underscores a continued improvement in the broader macro environment and underlying demand.
