The company said it has secured its 5G license and aims to deploy and upgrade over 1,000 5G sites nationwide during 2026. This expansion is designed to enhance digital infrastructure, improve connectivity speeds, and support economic growth across sectors.

Zong stated the launch reflects its long-term strategy to drive Pakistan’s transition toward a fully digital and connected economy. The milestone builds on its earlier 5G trial conducted in 2019 and follows the development of a multi-city 5G network infrastructure.

During earlier trials, Zong recorded speeds exceeding 1.4Gbps, demonstrating the network’s capability to support high-bandwidth applications. The company said its infrastructure meets global benchmarks and supports advanced digital services.

The operator outlined three core pillars guiding its 5G strategy, focusing on customer experience, product diversification, and artificial intelligence integration. It aims to deliver low latency and high reliability to enable services such as immersive gaming, ultra-high-definition streaming, and advanced digital applications.

Zong also plans to expand beyond connectivity by offering integrated solutions, including cloud services, enterprise digitization tools, smart home systems, IoT ecosystems, CCTV solutions, and tailored services for startups, SMEs, and large enterprises.

The company added that artificial intelligence will play a central role in network operations, enabling predictive optimization, automated systems, and personalized service offerings. This approach is expected to improve performance consistency and accelerate issue resolution across digital platforms.

As a subsidiary of China Mobile Limited, Zong said it will leverage global expertise to build a modern digital ecosystem in Pakistan. The rollout aligns with national initiatives such as Digital Pakistan and Vision 2030, aiming to strengthen technology adoption and economic development.

Zong said its 5G network will support key sectors including healthcare, agriculture, and industry by enabling high-speed, low-latency connectivity. The company added that the expansion will contribute to innovation and digital inclusion across the country.

The launch marks the beginning of widespread 5G adoption in Pakistan, with Zong positioning itself at the forefront of the country’s evolving telecom landscape.
