BYD-MMC delivers 100 Atto 2 EVs nationwide

BYD Pakistan and Mega Motor Company deliver 100 Atto 2 vehicles in one day, signaling rising electric vehicle adoption across major cities.

BYD Pakistan, in partnership with Mega Motor Company (MMC), delivered 100 Atto 2 electric vehicles across multiple cities in a single day, marking a key milestone in the country’s growing new energy vehicle market.

The nationwide rollout highlights accelerating consumer interest in electric mobility as fuel costs remain elevated.

The deliveries were executed simultaneously through BYD experience centres and dealership networks, reflecting the company’s expanding retail and service footprint in Pakistan.

The coordinated effort underscores the strengthening presence of BYD vehicles on roads across urban centres. The Atto 2 is positioned as an urban mobility solution designed to offer cost efficiency and practicality for daily commuting.

The model targets consumers seeking alternatives to conventional fuel-powered vehicles, particularly amid rising petrol and diesel prices that have increased the cost of transportation nationwide.

Industry observers note that Pakistan’s shift toward electric mobility is gaining traction as economic pressures and environmental concerns converge.

The introduction of accessible EV models like the Atto 2 is helping broaden the market beyond early adopters to more price-sensitive segments.

The milestone builds on BYD’s earlier launches in Pakistan and follows the recent introduction of its flagship Sealion 7 model, with deliveries already underway. The expanding product portfolio signals the company’s strategy to cater to multiple vehicle segments while consolidating its position in the local EV market.

Lei Jian, country head of BYD Pakistan, said the company views Pakistan as an important market within its global expansion strategy. He said the focus remains on making advanced electric vehicle technology accessible while supporting the transition toward cleaner and sustainable transport solutions.

Danish Khaliq, vice president of sales and strategy at BYD Pakistan-MMC, said customer trust and reliability remain central to the brand’s growth. He said the increasing number of vehicles on roads reflects rising consumer confidence in electric mobility and the company’s after-sales support network.

A customer receiving the Atto 2 vehicle said the booking and delivery process was smooth and well-coordinated. The customer added that receiving the vehicle ahead of Eid made the experience more meaningful for their family.

Pakistan’s electric vehicle sector has seen gradual policy support in recent years, with incentives aimed at reducing dependence on imported fuels and lowering emissions. However, adoption remains at an early stage compared to regional markets, with infrastructure and charging networks still developing.

The growing presence of global EV manufacturers such as BYD indicates increasing competition and investment in the segment. Analysts say sustained growth will depend on supportive policies, financing options, and expansion of charging infrastructure across major cities.
