Saudia wins 12 WTCE awards for passenger service

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia secured 12 international awards at WTCE 2026, reinforcing onboard innovation and comfort for Pakistani Umrah, Hajj, business, and family travelers.

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has emerged as the most awarded airline at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo 2026, receiving 12 international accolades across TravelPlus, Onboard Hospitality, and PAX International Readership Awards.

This achievement holds particular significance for travelers from Pakistan, where Saudia operates frequent flights connecting Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad with Jeddah and Riyadh, key gateways for Umrah, Hajj, and business travel.

Saudia’s recognition underscores its continued investment in onboard comfort and innovation across all cabin classes, directly benefiting Pakistani passengers who rely on the airline for religious journeys, business trips, and family travel to Saudi Arabia.

At the 2026 Onboard Hospitality Awards, Saudia received honors for Best First-Class Food Service (Lunch & Dinner) and Best Amenities: Economy. The airline also earned a highly commended distinction in the Best Wearable Textiles category.

The TravelPlus Airline Amenity Awards 2026 awarded Saudia six major recognitions, including five Gold awards for Economy Class Amenity Kit, Economy Class Blanket and Comfort Item, Business Class Meal Serviceware, First Class Sleeper and Lounge Suit, and Business Class Amenity Kit for the Middle East.

Saudia also received a highly commended distinction in the First Class Ladies Kit category and was granted the TravelPlus Passenger Amenities Five Star Rating 2026, an honor reserved for only a select number of airlines worldwide.

In parallel, the PAX International Readership Awards 2026 recognized Saudia for Best IFE and Connectivity in the Middle East and Best Children’s Amenity Kit in the Middle East, reflecting continued progress in inflight entertainment and onboard innovation.

Saudia said it continues to invest heavily in enhancing guest travel experiences through the largest passenger experience investment program in its history.

This includes advanced digital solutions powered by artificial intelligence, comprehensive cabin upgrades, high-speed inflight connectivity, and continuous improvements in onboard products and services, all designed to strengthen authentic Saudi hospitality.

Established in 1945, Saudia has grown into one of the Middle East’s largest airlines. The carrier operates one of the region’s youngest fleets, with 149 aircraft serving around 100 destinations across four continents, including all 26 domestic airports within Saudi Arabia.

Saudia is a member of the International Air Transport Association, the Arab Air Carriers Organization, and has been part of the SkyTeam alliance since 2012.

The airline was recently named Best Airline Staff Service for 2025 by Skytrax, ranked 17th globally among airlines, and achieved first place worldwide for on-time performance according to Cirium.

Saudia also received the APEX World Class Airline title for the fifth consecutive year in 2026, alongside the Best in Class: Service–Guest Experience award for the second consecutive year.

Saudia’s latest global recognition strengthens its strategic role in connecting Pakistan with Saudi Arabia while enhancing service standards for one of the region’s most important religious and commercial travel corridors.
