Suzuki, Haval Lead Pakistan Auto Sales in April 2026

The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) released car sales figures for April 2026, indicating overall industry growth with notable brand-specific performances. Suzuki and Haval reported strong sales increases, while Hyundai faced declines in some segments.
Suzuki dominated the market with remarkable gains across its lineup. The Suzuki Swift posted a 122% rise in sales, jumping to 2,205 units in April from 992 in March. The Every minivan also saw impressive growth of 93%, and the Alto sustained its position as the volume leader with 7,567 units sold—a 66% increase compared to the previous month. Similarly, the Cultus recorded a 66% increment in sales.
In contrast, Hyundai experienced challenges especially in premium and crossover categories. The Sonata’s sales dropped by 21%, and the Tucson declined by 19%. However, the Elantra counterbalanced some losses with a 96% increase in sales. The Santa Fe also saw a modest growth of 18%.
Toyota and Honda maintained stable growth trends. Toyota’s Corolla and Yaris models registered a 10% growth, while its Fortuner and Hilux models improved by 21%. Honda’s City and Civic models rose by 19%, though its crossover segment showed limited growth of just 3%, selling 284 units combined. This stagnation allowed new Chinese entrants like Jetour to make inroads, with Jetour selling 305 units in its first reported month, surpassing Honda’s crossover numbers.
Great Wall Motors’ Haval continued its upward trajectory, increasing sales by 27% to 2,208 units. The newly introduced Tank 500 model recorded 16 units sold in April.
These sales figures highlight competitive dynamics in Pakistan’s automotive market, with traditional players facing increasing pressure from emerging Chinese brands. Suzuki’s robust performance underscores its strong market positioning, whereas Hyundai’s mixed results point to challenges ahead in sustaining sales momentum.
