LESCO Schedules Power Outages from November 8 to 10

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced planned electricity shutdowns spanning three days from November 8 through November 10, 2026. The interruptions aim to facilitate necessary maintenance and repair work across multiple grid stations and feeders within LESCO’s jurisdiction.

Details of Power Cut Schedule

On November 8, power supply from the Ghazi Grid Station will be halted between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, impacting feeders that include IT Centre, Hussain Road, and Ali Muhammad Bazaar among others. The following day, November 9, maintenance will affect several grid stations such as Alipur, Johar Town, Lahore Cantt, and Raiwind New, with most outages occurring between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Areas like Data Abad, Shah Kamal, and Kasur New will experience power cuts during this period.

November 10 will see disruptions in various other regions including DHA, Garden Town, Kala Shah Kaku, and Sheikhupura. The Neki Grid Station will also undergo maintenance, causing outages from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Additionally, some feeders will face power suspension during 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Intermittent interruptions are expected in specific localities such as Dera Chahal and Burki Road Grid Station areas.

Maintenance Necessity and Consumer Impact

The scheduled blackouts are intended to ensure system reliability and safety through upgrades and repairs, which are critical given Lahore and neighboring areas’ growing electricity demand. LESCO has made efforts to limit the duration of outages primarily to daylight hours to reduce inconvenience for residents and businesses.

Why This Matters for Pakistan

Frequent maintenance activities like these reflect the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan’s power distribution companies in modernizing infrastructure to meet rising urban and industrial electricity consumption. For Pakistani consumers, advance notice provides an opportunity to plan accordingly, helping to mitigate the impact of power interruptions on daily life. Reliable electricity supply is pivotal for economic activity and overall quality of life, so such measures are essential steps toward long-term stability in the energy sector.

According to a LESCO spokesperson, “These outages are critical for maintaining and upgrading the network to provide better and uninterrupted power supply to our consumers.” Residents are advised to stay updated through official channels to prepare for these temporary shutdowns.
