Agri-Exports reach historic milestone of $8b: Jam Kamal

ISLAMABAD: Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan has announced that the country’s agricultural exports have achieved a historic high of eight billion dollars for the first time ever.

In a virtual meeting with the Sectoral Council for Rice and the Dairy and Dairy Products Council, the Minister highlighted the crucial role their contributions play in the national economy. Effort being made to bring investment in all sectors: Jam Kamal

He stated that the objective is to boost export volumes and that all possible steps will be taken to support this aim.

The Minister urged the council to aim for a target of five billion dollars for the upcoming year, reflecting the government’s confidence in the sector’s capacity to sustain its positive growth.

He noted Pakistan’s leading position in the European and Gulf markets within the rice sector but stressed the importance of focusing on producing pesticide-free products to retain this advantage.
