Assault on Pakistan’s Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan emphatically denounces the recent assault by a group of extremists on its consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, and the inability of the German authorities to uphold the sanctity and security of the consular mission’s premises.

As per the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963, it is the duty of the host nation to protect the integrity of consular premises and ensure the safety of diplomats.Parliamentary Delegation from Germany calls on National Assembly Speaker

In the incident that occurred yesterday, the security of Pakistan’s consulate in Frankfurt was compromised, putting the lives of its consular staff at risk.

We are expressing our strong protest to the German Government.

We call on the German Government to take immediate actions to meet its obligations under the Vienna Convention and to ensure the protection of Pakistan’s diplomatic missions and staff in Germany.

We also urge the German authorities to promptly apprehend and prosecute those responsible for yesterday’s attack and to hold accountable those who were negligent in maintaining security.
