President Secretariat Gets Rs 60m additional budget amid economic woes

Amid the economic crisis, the government has approved an additional budget for President’s Secretariat amounting to Rs 60 million to give allowances of up to 150% for employees.
Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has recently approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs 60 million under employees’ related expenses.
In a recent meeting of the economic coordination committee (ECC), the President Secretariat (Personal) briefed the Budget Estimates of the Secretariat under “Employees Related Expenses” for the year 2022-23 were allocated by the Finance Division on the basis of trend of expenditure as on 30th April 2022.
It was further added that the funds provided by the Finance Division under the above sub-head had fallen short of Rs.60.0 million dues to the following reasons: –
It sought approval of a grant of executive allowance at 150% on the Basic Pay as of 30-06-2022.
Secondly, the president’s secretariat sought funds on account of the effect of the annual increment.
It included the effect of the revision of Basic Pay from 01-07-2022 and the grant of adhoc relief at 15% on the Pay Scales of 2017 with effect from 01-07-2023.
The President’s Secretariat sought approval of a Technical Supplementary Grant amounting to Rs.60.0 million during the Financial Year 2022-23.
It required additional funds to meet the mandatory expenditure under the head “Employees Related Expenses”.President Arif Alvi’s salary up by over 1000 %
President secretariat submitted the summary to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet for consideration regarding “The Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 60.0 million under “Employees Related Expenses” and approved the proposal.
