NAB Assures FPCCI Review of Unnecessary Cases against Business Community

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has assured FPCCI to hold a review of unnecessary cases against business community within two months.

Chairman NAB has, in principle, agreed that the business community should be facilitated and there should be no harassment in trade & industry, he added.
Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh further elaborated that Chairman NAB assured them that, to alleviate the concerns of businessmen, he would oversee the review and reassessment of pending NAB cases concerning the business community.
All cases that are not genuine, valid, or are deemed unnecessary will be dropped. This process is expected to be completed promptly – within the next two months, he added.
It is important to note that Mr. Husnain Ahmed, Director General of Operations at NAB, and Mr. Javed Akber Riaz, Director General of NAB Sindh, were also present at the meeting.
President FPCCI was accompanied by Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, SVP FPCCI; Mr. Asif Inam, VP FPCCI; Mr. Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Mazhar Ali Nasir & Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, former SVPs of FPCCI; Mr. Ahmed Chinoy and Mr. Mustafa Shekhani, along with other top business community leaders.
Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh stated that the business community is the most peaceful and law-abiding segment of society, emphasizing that upholding the law is essential to providing a conducive environment for business, commercial, industrial, trade, and economic activities.
The FPCCI Chief also mentioned that Chairman NAB informed the FPCCI delegation that they can report any cases of harassment or bribery against the business community to him; this will ensure their protection and resolution of their cases.
Chairman NAB also expressed appreciation for the business community’s role in sustaining the national economy, creating employment opportunities, and generating revenue for the country.
