On this auspicious occasion of the International Day of Parliamentarism which also coincides with the anniversary day of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), I extend my warmest greetings and sentiments of goodwill to all the Parliaments across the globe.

This day serves as an evocative reminder of the critical role that parliamentary institutions play in shaping democratic governance worldwide.

Parliaments stand as the cornerstone of democracy, representing the voices and aspirations of the people they serve. I also commend parliamentarians for their dedication and service to their people. Your unwavering commitment to parliamentary excellence is instrumental in shaping a brighter future for generations to come.

As we collectively celebrate this important day, we need to chalk out a framework and collective approach to tackle those common challenges posing threats to our survival. Climate Change, terrorism, extremism, raging conflicts and many other challenges call for unified action.

Parliament of Pakistan joins legislatures across the globe in moving forward with hope to promote peace, development and prosperity.

On the International Day of Parliamentarism, I also reaffirm our commitment to continue working with the IPU and parliaments worldwide pursuing and realizing commonly cherished ideals of parliamentary excellence, democratic strengthening, mutual respect, dialogue and parliamentary connectivity to effectively address common challenges and exploit mutually beneficial opportunities for the common good of our peoples.
