The Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Almazrouel Suhail on the margins of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels.

The Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ignited its fourth unit and the unit is now ablaze with the promise of power.
Nestled in the Al Dhafra Region of Abu Dhabi, the plant is owned by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and operated by Nawah.
It has embarked on a journey that began in 2008.
With the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) overseeing every step, the plant’s fourth unit now stands as a testament to meticulous planning and unwavering dedication.
Since obtaining its operating license in November, the operator has meticulously met every regulatory requirement.
Construction of the plant’s Korean-designed APR-1400 units commenced in 2012, with unit 4’s inception in 2015. Over the years, each unit has increased efficiency.
The Barakah plant can generate clean electricity burgeons to 5.6 GW, meeting a quarter of the UAE’s electricity demand.
The two Ministers have undertaken a review of the current status and potential of bilateral relations.
They have shown their keen desire to further boost Pakistan-UAE relations, especially trade, and investment in renewable energy and transport sectors.
Foreign Minister Dar has lauded the role of the UAE in climate diplomacy.
He noted that COP-28 which was hosted by the UAE had attracted global attention towards Nuclear Energy as an option for clean energy.
The Foreign Minister hoped that the conclusion of the Pakistan-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) would result in further enhancement of bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
The UAE Minister hoped that the UAE would be a partner in the development for Pakistan.
