Twitter Reaction: Criticism Follows Deepika Visit to Abu Dhabi Mosque

Bollywood icons Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are facing criticism online following their appearance in a new Experience Abu Dhabi tourism campaign.

The ad, designed to highlight the modern charm of the city, included brief scenes of Deepika walking through the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque wearing an abaya.

While many viewers praised her for showing respect toward local customs, others accused her of selective sensitivity and inconsistency in her public image.

Some fans argued that the gesture of actor contradicted her previous feminist campaigns, questioning why such reverence was not shown for Indian traditions.

The traditional look of Ranveer Singh in parts of the advertisement, featuring a long beard and modest clothing, further intensified the online debate.

As the controversy grew, discussions shifted toward the visitor guidelines of the mosque, which outline clear rules on attire and conduct for all guests.
