Double-Decker Buses Arrive at Karachi Port

Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon announced on Monday that a fleet of double-decker buses has arrived at Karachi port.

The minister shared details of the arrival on social media platform X, posting photographs of the double-decker buses at the port.

In his post, Sharjeel Memon said the buses had reached Karachi and would soon be operated by the Sindh government’s transport department.

Memon added that the provincial government was taking steps to address transport issues in the port city.

Separately, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif rejected a fare increase for Tourism Development Corporation Punjab’s bus service.

The fare had been raised from Rs200 to Rs500, with a proposed increase from Rs5,000 to Rs20,000 for corporate, educational, and commercial use.

Following the chief minister’s directive, the notification regarding the fare increase was withdrawn and previous fares were restored.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the hike would have placed an additional financial burden on the public.
