ECC approves import of 100,000 metric tons sugar
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Monday approved the import of 100,000 metric tons of sugar.
The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Shaukat Tarin, chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Monday.
The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet, during its meeting held on Monday, approved a summary by the Industries and Production Division for approval of a tender opened on 25-06-2021 for the import of 100,000 metric tons of sugar.
Regarding the proposal for Intervention Price for Cotton 2021-2022 Crop by National Food and Research Division, ECC constituted a committee to submit its report within 15 days.

The ECC, in a summary by the Maritime Affairs Division, directed the Petroleum Division, the Finance Division, and PSO to provide a timeframe for the payment of the outstanding dues to PNSC. In a summary of the extension of general subsidies on five essential items through the Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan from 1st July, the ECC allowed the extension of subsidies for fifteen days from 1st July and constituted a committee to work out a future course of action within 15 days.
The ECC has received a summary from the Power Division regarding payment of the outstanding amount of net hydroelectric profits – within two weeks, the Power Division and the Finance Division are to come up with a possible solution/option for raising the required financing by WAPDA.
The ECC approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 10 million for the Aviation Division and a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 73.870 million in favour of the NSSP, Lahore. Similarly, the ECC approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 20.70 million for the Pakistan Academy for Rural Development, Peshawar, and a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 1.00 billion for payment of Disparity Reduction Allowance to the concerned offices.
The ECC approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 16.706 million for the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division for payment to the Federal Land Commission and approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 1012.176 million for the Interior Division for Frontier Corps Balochistan (South).
The ECC further approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 1.6 billion for the Department of Immigration and Passports, Ministry of Interior, and a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 456.641 million for the Federal Department of Revenue to pay off the pending liabilities of the project titled “Development of the Integrated Transit Trade Management System”.
The ECC approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs.2.0 billion for the Foreign Affairs Division and a Supplementary Grant of Rs. 8.0 billion for the Textile Wing of the Commerce Division. The ECC also approved an Rs. 5800.00 million Technical Supplementary Grant for the use of foreign aid for NDRMF projects, Ministry of Planning, Development, and Reforms.
