Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program 2022 Requirements

For the Ehsaas Program 12000 Scheme, only deserving males and females should apply.

Registration Under Ehsaas Program 2021

The government had announced earlier to complete the Survey by July 31, 2021, to start new registration under Ehsaas Program.

It has completed 95 percent of the survey and new registration 2021 under the Ehsaas program will start after completion of the survey.

The government has accelerated work on the new Ehsaas survey, which will collect data on the socio-economic situation of homes. The survey is presently 95% complete and the government will complete it by July 31, 2021, to start a new registration.

It will start the Registration of new beneficiaries under the Ehsaas program as it is contingent on the results of the current Ehsaas survey. Households that miss the door-to-door survey will be able to enroll themselves through the Ehsaas Registration Desks, which will open at the Tehsil level after completion of the survey.

Since its inception on March 27, 2019, Ehsaas has completely devoured the budget allocations for the previous two fiscal years, i.e. July 1, 2019-June 30, 2021. Overall, the government had used the full Rs. 206.76 billion Ehsaas funding for FY 2020-21 for different social protection and poverty reduction activities under Ehsaas.

Similarly, the government allocated Rs. 254.95  for FY 2019-20.It  disbursed fully and utilized during the fiscal year. “Allocation for the Ehsaas program has been increased to Rs. 260 billion for the fiscal year 2021-22,” Dr. Sania remarked.

Ehsaas, which is based on more than 280 programs, initiatives, and policy areas, strives to reduce inequality and alleviate poverty through a multi-sectoral approach. Through the current Ehsaas survey, it has enrolled over seven million families in Ehsaas Kafaalat through June 30, 2021. Kafaalat involves monthly payments of Rs. 2,000 and savings bank accounts for poor women around the country.

In the first phase of Ehsaas Emergency Financial, which began in 2020, the government provided Rs. 179.8 billion in one-time emergency cash support to 14.8 million families in danger of falling into extreme poverty. Currently, under the second phase of Ehsaas Emergency Cash, the government is distributing Rs.12,000 to 12 million needy households (including 4 million additional deserving households). The goal is to recompense impacted households for unemployment resulting from the COVID-19 disaster.

In the first phase of the program, the government established 50 Ehsaas Nashonuma Centres across 15 districts to combat stunting in children under the age of two. Furthermore, the primary education CCT program has enrolled 1.6 million primary school pupils from Pakistan’s 154 districts. It gives given conditional cash awards of Rs. 1,500 to children for male children and Rs. 2,000 for female children if they attend school at least 70% of the time.

In order to promote higher education, the Ehsaas undergraduate scholarship program awarded 142,765 need-based and merit-based scholarships totaling $13.2 billion during the last two academic years. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition as well as a living allowance.

Ehsaas also provides small-scale livelihood possibilities to eligible families through the Ehsaas Interest-Free Loan and the Ehsaas Amdan programs. Since the introduction of Ehsaas Interest-Free Loans in July 2019, the government had disbursed a total of 1.35 million loans (46 percent of which have gone to women) for a total of Rs 47.77 billion. So far, 60,364 modest income-generating assets worth Rs. 3.62 billion handed to deserving households under Ehsaas Amdan (60 percent women).

Ehsaas Langars provides free meals twice a day to daily wage employees and laborers across the country. To date, 28 new lanes have opened around the country. The government supplied Meals free of charge using food truck arrangements across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Peshawar under ‘Ehsaas Koye Bhooka Na Soye’ (EKBNS). Since their inception in March 2021, 12 food trucks in five cities have served 535,576 meals.

Furthermore, the government has created model Panagah facilities nationwide under the Ehsaas umbrella to assist labourers and daily wagers in need of shelter. Since September 2021, when the government delegated obligation to the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division, 1.8 million beneficiaries have taken advantage of shelter and meal services at 17 model Panagahs in all four provinces, GB, and the federal capital.

Ehsaas Tahafuz is Pakistan’s first shock-oriented precision safety net program. Tahafuz targets at preventing catastrophic health expenditures and has been pilot project in one hospital since December 2020, after which government will upscale in FY 2021-22.

On June 9, 2021, the Prime Minister will open the first One Window Ehsaas Center in Islamabad’s Sitara Market. All Ehsaas services are available under one roof in this center. Ehsaas will establish two window centers in each of the country’s 154 districts.
