After the overwhelming success of Saiyaara, fans have been eagerly anticipating the next project of Aneet Padda, and her lead role in a major film is now confirmed.
Aneet Padda will lead Maddock Films’ upcoming horror-comedy Shakti Shalini, marking her first foray into this genre and offering audiences a thrilling, fresh cinematic experience.
The film was originally scheduled for a 2025 release, but Maddock Films has officially announced the premiere will now take place on December 24, 2026.
Earlier reports suggested Kiara Advani would play the lead role, but the studio clarified Aneet’s casting alongside additional updates about the storyline and production progress.
To announce the casting, Maddock Films shared a special video with the theatrical print of Thamma, describing the protagonist as “the creator, the destroyer, and the mother of all.”
The video clip later leaked on social media, generating immense fan excitement and immediately sparking speculation about Aneet Padda’s role and the film’s potential storyline.
Adding to the hype, a mysterious still from the movie has circulated online, showing a woman in a white lehenga floating mid-air inside a dense forest.
Her long braid sways dramatically in the wind while her face remains hidden, and fans are convinced the character shown in the image is Aneet Padda herself.
