Samsung is preparing to expand its Galaxy A series with the upcoming Galaxy A37 5G, which recently appeared on the Geekbench platform listing.

The listing, under model number SM-A376B, shows a single-core score of 1,158 and a multi-core score of 3,401 on Geekbench platform tests.

It runs Android 16 and lists 5.08GB of RAM, which is likely to be marketed as six gigabytes by Samsung for this model.

The listing points to an octa-core chipset with a 4+4 core configuration with high-performance cores at 2.75GHz and efficiency cores at 2.05GHz.

Those clock speeds and core arrangement align with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 processor as suggested by the benchmark entry on Geekbench platform.

If confirmed, the move would indicate Samsung integrating more of its own chipsets across the Galaxy A lineup rather than relying on external suppliers.

The Galaxy A36 5G, expected to be succeeded by the A37, was launched earlier this year in India with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor.

The A36 featured a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and offered configurations up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.

It carried a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 12-megapixel front shooter and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support and an IP67 rating.

Details such as pricing, storage choices and additional features for the Galaxy A37 5G remain unconfirmed by Samsung so far.

The Geekbench appearance hints at a capable mid-range phone for the Galaxy A series with improved processing power and Samsung’s signature build quality.
