Government Condemns Inflammatory Campaign Against Chief Justice
ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that the legal system will proceed against those responsible for the inflammatory and unfounded propaganda campaign targeting Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.
In a press briefing held today in Islamabad with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, he expressed regret over attempts to incite violence under the guise of religion for selfish political purposes.
He affirmed that belief in the finality of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a fundamental aspect of our faith. The Minister highlighted that Qazi Faez Isa has been subjected to attacks for many years under various pretexts. He noted that there is a continuous effort to suppress a principled and honorable voice within the judiciary.
Stressing the importance of upholding the rule of law, Khawaja Asif asserted that the directives of any individual or group will not be tolerated.
Condemning the smear campaign against the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that those who spread hatred in the name of religion for their narrow political gains should be denounced. He stressed that no one will be allowed to issue edicts calling for murder.
