Government Increases Petroleum Prices by Up to Rs 9.56 Per Liter
ISLAMABAD.
The federal government has announced an increase in petroleum product prices, with the Ministry of Finance issuing a notification to this effect.
According to the notification, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 7.45, taking it from Rs 258.16 to Rs 265.61 per liter.
High-speed diesel has seen an increase of Rs 9.56 per liter, moving from Rs 267.89 to Rs 277.49 per liter.Country Facing Threat of An Oil Crisis Due to Oil Tankers’ strike
The price of light diesel has also been increased by Rs 9.88 per liter, and kerosene oil has been raised by Rs 10.05 per liter.
These new prices are effective from midnight and will remain in place for the next fifteen days.
The price hikes were made based on recommendations from OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) and approved by the Prime Minister. These increases do not include the petroleum development levy announced in the budget and are attributed to the rise in global oil prices.
