Govt Reduces Diesel Price up to Rs 10.86 per liter

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved cut in price of diesel by Rs 10.86 per liter in line with reduction in global oil prices effective from August 1, 2024.


The price of petrol per liter has been reduced by Rs 6. 17 per liter, kerosene oil Rs 6.32 per liter and light diesel oil Rs 5.72 per liter.Competition Tribunal Affirms Penalty on Reliance Paints for Price Fixing Tactics


The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had worked out the consumer prices of Petroleum Products, based on the price variations in the international market.


The prices of Motor Spirit & HSD for the next fortnight, starting from 01st August, 2024, have been revised downwards, the finance ministry said in a statement.


The finance ministry said that price of high speed diesel (HSD) has been reduced to Rs 272.77 per liter from Rs 283.63, registering a reduction of Rs 10.86 per liter.


The high speed diesel is used in agriculture and transport sectors. Therefore, reduction in its price will have inflationary impact on the consumers.


The price of petrol has been reduced to Rs 269.43 per liter from Rs 275.60 per liter, witnessing a reduction of Rs 6.17 per liter.
