ICC Probes Yadav After PCB Raises Neutrality Issue
The International Cricket Council is reviewing a complaint from the Pakistan Cricket Board against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav regarding his post-match remarks.
The PCB alleged Yadav politicised Indian Asia Cup victory speech on September 14 and violated the ICC code emphasising neutrality in international cricket.
According to Indian media reports, ICC match referee Richie Richardson confirmed receiving two official PCB submissions, covering both the ceremony and press conference remarks.
Richardson reportedly concluded the comments of the Indian captain potentially damaged the image of cricket, recommending formal charges be brought for conduct detrimental to the sport.
Yadav now has the option to accept responsibility for his comments or proceed to a hearing involving representatives from the ICC, PCB, and BCCI.

During his speech, Yadav dedicated India’s victory to Pahalgam terror victims and praised armed forces, while later confirming instructions to avoid handshakes with Pakistan.
The PCB argued these remarks politicised cricket and urged disciplinary action, citing clear breaches of the ICC code of conduct and international sporting neutrality.
The ICC is expected to decide soon, with disciplinary consequences ranging from monetary fines to possible suspension, depending on whether Yadav contests the charge.
