Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has announced a new regulation requiring all motorcycles in the federal capital to be equipped with M-Tags. This move is part of the ongoing vehicle registration and security enhancement campaign in the city.

The process of affixing M-Tags on vehicles has been underway, and starting from 10am on February 20, 2026, the installation will be extended to include motorcycles. This new rule applies to all types of motorcycles, including regular bikes, Bykea motorcycles, heavy bikes, and other categories.Lahore Police Propose E-Tag System for Vehicles

Motorcycle owners can obtain M-Tags from 13 designated centers across Islamabad by presenting their vehicle registration documents along with their national identity card. So far, more than 600,000 vehicles have been issued M-Tags in the city. However, registration for Bykea and online taxi services is being handled separately.

Deputy Commissioner Memon emphasized that these measures aim to improve security and ensure safer travel for residents within Islamabad. He called on citizens to cooperate fully with the M-Tag campaign to facilitate its smooth implementation.

This initiative aligns with broader efforts to modernize vehicle management and enhance public safety in the capital. The M-Tag system is expected to streamline vehicle identification and monitoring, contributing to better traffic management and law enforcement.
