Islamabad Introduces Online Factory and Shop Registration System

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), has launched an Online Registration System for factories and shops. This initiative aims to digitalize the registration process for businesses within the capital, significantly reducing administrative delays and simplifying the procedure for entrepreneurs and industrial operators.
The newly introduced system replaces the traditional manual paperwork required for business registration with a streamlined automated digital platform. This change allows business owners to complete their registrations more efficiently, reducing procedural hurdles and saving time.
Alongside the registration platform, authorities have also implemented the Labor Inspection Management System (LIMS). This system automates workplace inspections, enabling digital scheduling, tracking, and documentation of labor law compliance. By doing so, it enhances enforcement of workplace safety and labor regulations while promoting greater transparency within the inspection process.
Through these digital systems, real-time data on registered businesses and inspection activities will be accessible to both regulatory authorities and the public. This transparency is expected to improve monitoring of compliance and foster trust between businesses and regulators.
Officials describe these reforms as part of a broader government effort to modernize governance in Islamabad and improve the efficiency of public service delivery. The systems are designed not only to facilitate easier business registration but also to reinforce accountability and enforcement in labor affairs.
The introduction of the online factory and shop registration system, along with LIMS, reflects the administration’s commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business in Islamabad. By reducing processing times and streamlining regulatory oversight, these digital platforms seek to support economic growth and create a more business-friendly environment in the capital territory.
