Khaqan Shahnawaz Criticises Atif Aslam for Copying Online Creators

Pakistani actor and digital creator Khaqan Shahnawaz has criticised singer Atif Aslam for allegedly copying smaller online creators without giving them due recognition.

While speaking on the Pakiavellian podcast, Khaqan discussed the overlap between mainstream celebrities and digital creators, highlighting rising competition in Pakistan.

Khaqan shared his views on originality and authenticity, stressing the need to respect creative ownership as artists increasingly explore digital platforms for engagement.

Although Khaqan made it clear that he respects Atif for exploring online platforms, he expressed disappointment with how the singer executed his creative strategy.

According to Khaqan, several of Atif social media videos appear very similar to the work of lesser known creators, yet no credit was offered to them.

As a content creator himself, Khaqan emphasised that fairness demands recognition for original ideas and efforts behind the work that inspires others online.

He added that if Atif had created unique concepts, he would have praised his innovation and supported his entry into the digital entertainment space.

Atif Aslam, widely known for his soulful songs and commanding stage presence, has recently surprised fans by sharing light hearted and humorous videos on Instagram.

His newly found interest in playful and trending content marks a clear shift from his usual serious image that dominated his two decade long career.

The response from fans has been mixed, as some admire his relaxed attitude while others, like Khaqan, question the creativity behind his new online content.
