Kissan Card Scheme: Punjab Calls for Enhancing Subsidy Allocation
Punjab has requested the federal government to enhance the subsidy allocation to disburse through Kissan Card to meet the target of 1 million cards among farmers till June 2022.
The Punjab province called for enhancing subsidy allocation in a high-level meeting of the National Coordination Committee here on Wednesday.

Mr. A.Q Suleri convened it on February 16, 2022, in the Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
During the meeting, participants discussed the progress of ATP interventions.
Cost Allocation for Kissan Card
Ministry of Finance shared that it had allocated Rs 150,000 for production cost and Rs. 200,000 for development needs through Kamyab Kissan Package for farmers to distribute cards.
The government of Punjab requested the federal government to enhance the subsidy amount to disburse through Kissan Card as they had planned to distribute 1million Kissan Cards till June 2022 amongst farmers.
Besides, Govt of Punjab has approved a project to facilitate farmers in the provision of subsidized Agricultural implements on the basis of the 60:40 ratio.

Secretary Agriculture Department, the government of KP shared they had registered 1,24,000 farmers through Kissan card for disbursement of subsidy funds.
Besides, the federal government directed the government of Balochistan to ensure the availability of funds for Agriculture related development projects.
Moreover, they requested all the provincial Agriculture Departments to share the total amount of subsidies keeping in mind their future needs.
The chairman committee shared concern over the availability of certified seed for various crops, especially cotton and wheat.
Federal Minister for NFSR further directed the State Bank of Pakistan and Ministry of Finance to hold a dedicated meeting with the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to formulate a clear road map regarding enhancing Agriculture credit to the farming community.
Lastly, the chair directed all the provinces and Federal Ministries to expedite the pace of implementation of ATP interventions to transform the Agriculture sector as per the Vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
