Lahore Roads to Allow Only Certified Vehicles Soon
The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a strict ban on all vehicles without green stickers, effective from November 15, to combat rising air pollution.
The move is part of the intensified effort of the provincial government to improve air quality in Lahore, which has deteriorated over the past few months due to pollution.
Environment DG Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh emphasized that every vehicle must undergo mandatory exhaust testing before being allowed to operate legally on Lahore’s roads after November 15.
He warned that vehicles found on the streets without a valid ETS certificate or green sticker after the deadline will be immediately seized by authorities.
Only vehicles meeting environmental standards and passing the required testing procedures will be permitted to operate on public roads under the new enforcement framework.

The agency has introduced strict compliance measures, adopting a zero-tolerance approach against polluting vehicles to ensure the highest level of enforcement across Lahore city.
Vehicles that fail to obtain certification under ETS will face legal action, including immediate confiscation, under the strongest anti-pollution campaign of EPA to date.
Dr Hamid urged vehicle owners to promptly complete exhaust and noise testing, warning that delays could result in their vehicles being seized without any exemptions.
“After November 15, any vehicle without proper certification will be confiscated immediately,” he stressed, reinforcing that the crackdown will continue strictly with no exceptions granted.
The enforcement drive of EPA aims to reduce urban air pollution, ensure cleaner air quality, and guarantee safer mobility for citizens across Lahore’s increasingly congested streets.
