Separately, authorities have imposed Section 144 in Lahore for 30 days to maintain law and order during Basant celebrations, as the Punjab government enforces strict safety and public order measures.
Officials said Section 144 was imposed immediately to prevent mischief and provocation during the festival. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to take strict action against any violations.
Authorities said the decision was taken amid concerns that provocative elements could exploit the occasion by using religious or political symbols, which have been banned on kites during Basant.
