Major PSL Teams Sign New Long-Term Agreements

The Pakistan Super League has received a significant boost after Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi renewed their commitments for another decade.

The much-important decision comes as the league prepares for its largest commercial expansion since its launch 9 years ago.

Both franchises finalised new agreements with PCB, ensuring their ownership groups will remain in charge for 10 years.

Officials say the renewals reflect rising business confidence, particularly as franchise valuations increase and two expansion teams prepare to enter the competition.

Quetta Gladiators became the second franchise to confirm their long-term future after accepting the updated valuation framework of the league.

The agreement keeps the team under Nadeem Omar, who is widely regarded as a prominent figure within the domestic cricket landscape in Pakistan.

The PCB praised the decision of Quetta, calling it a continuation of a partnership shaped by investment, loyalty, and impactful talent development.

PZ also concluded their renewal on the same day, with owner Javed Afridi confirming another decade of leadership.

Zalmi, known as one of the strongest commercial brands, accepted the valuation recommended by EY MENA for the next rights cycle.

Afridi described the extension as a pledge to pursue further growth while maintaining the franchise’s established global appeal.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi commended Zalmi’s influence, noting its consistent work in brand building, fan engagement, and youth development since 2016.

With these agreements in place, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, and Peshawar Zalmi have all secured their positions for the next PSL era.

Attention now shifts to Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, and Multan Sultans, whose ownership groups must decide on renewals before the upcoming rights auction.
