Meeting between the Prime Minister and Secretary General ECO
Islamabad: Khusrav Noziri, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House today.
During the meeting, Mr. Noziri briefed the Prime Minister on ECO’s initiatives and activities, along with his reform agenda aimed at revitalizing the organization during his tenure.Minister Emphasizes Skills Education for Economic Growth at AIOU Golden Jubilee
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Mr. Noziri’s efforts and contributions in advancing ECO as a regional cooperation platform and extended his best wishes for Mr. Noziri’s future endeavors.
He expressed satisfaction in noting that Ambassador Noziri had received his education at Pakistan’s Foreign Service Academy.
The Prime Minister also conveyed warm regards for President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan. Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for ECO in promoting intra-regional trade among member countries and advancing the organization’s reform agenda.
He emphasized the importance of the “ECO Vision 2025” document signed during the 2017 ECO Summit in Islamabad under the leadership of then Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Additionally, the Prime Minister proudly announced that Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, former Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, would assume the role of the new Secretary General of ECO.
