Deputy Director Irfan Virk noted that smog and fog will persist across the plains, raising pollution levels in regions usually affected by winter haze.
Northeastern and southern Punjab are expected to see heavy early morning fog, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plains could face similar conditions.
In Islamabad, officials warned that smog and fog may disrupt transportation, reduce visibility, and pose risks to people with respiratory illnesses.
Experts have urged careful management of water reserves due to the absence of rainfall and glacial melt.
Virk highlighted that water in Tarbela and Mangla dams must be regulated cautiously to prevent shortages.
Meteorological authorities are monitoring the situation closely and said they will recommend timely measures if drought-like conditions develop.
